Life happens

Sorry we haven't posted in a few days.  Life gets a little crazy.  We had our fist call to poison controll... Thank God brother struggles opening his toothpaste because he snuck and ate some in his room. When my husband came home he told him he had a belly ache and confessed to what he did.
Lessons learned:
Calcium is the antidote for floride.
Although you go over toothpaste safety every morning and night kids are sneaky.

On the Montessori home front we received our very first  official montessori materials.  Thesand paper numbers. And the tray of sand.  We absolutely love them <3 they were gifted  so I don't have a link.

Today was a relaxing Sunday. Brother asked to draw his very first comic book.  It was so cute to see all the little pictures.  I can't wait til he adds words.

Well that's it for tonight.
Love,
That crazy Momma

You Gotta Start Somewhere...

Montessori is a lifestyle change.  It takes a while to adjust but there is a lot that you can accomplish when you first make the switch.  Today I still feel as though we are at ground zero.  This post will show you what we have done so far and where we want to go from here.

Changes we have made so far:

1. We gave away BAGS and BAGS of plastic toys away!! TONS! And honestly we can probably fill a few more but we are taking baby steps.
2. We purchased 3 art easels. Yes 3!!! We are an artsy family.  You know with me pinning every craft possible on pinterest even though I only complete like 2 or 3 a year.  We could have made due with only one but i love that the kids each have their own little place to color and paint their hearts out.  So far we are already seeing improvements in Brother's drawings and handwriting.
3. We moved two of the Walmart bookshelves into the family/dinning area and created a small kids space for work/activities.
4. We removed the front of Baby's crib so she can climb up and down while playing in her room. (Right now she still co-sleeps with me in my bed)
5. The kids have started making their own lunch and snacks.  I even converted one of the lower cabinets to kids supplies only.  One day I will get around to rearranging all of my cabinets but like I said before...baby steps. :)
6. Started an Amazon wish list. It's soo much fun like baby registries where you feel like you can buy everything but in reality your just making a dream list.
7. I also made a few materials from Imagine Our Life. She is awesome!! I can't wait to make more.
8. Checked out as many montessori books as I could find at the library.  So far I only read one haha. 3 kids no time to read!
9. Joined as many Montessori FB groups as I could.
10. Made kid safe diy cleaners.

Where I hope to go from here...

1.Find some Montessori Albums that will work for our whole family.  Especially for Brother.
2.Start a Garden. Sounds simple enough...me and my black thumb.
3. Find out what the laws or requirements for homeschooling in our state.
4. Transform the kitchen and bathroom to be more kid friendly.
5. Take the kids outside more.  We love outside but after watching Project Wild Thing on Netflix I really need to plan more outside activities with the kids.  Hence the Garden lol

Here are some pictures of our progress.

First Blog Ever... Eek :)

Welcome to my first blog ever!!! Let me introduce myself.  I am Momma.  I have 3 amazing energetic children.  Brother is 4 years old.  Sister is 2 years old. And Baby just turned 1! My wonderful husband hates social media so I will only write about him every now and then.

A little about me... I hated language arts growing up so if you are looking for a grammatically correct blog this one is NOT for you. I will be doing most of my post from my shattered Samsung note (after kids go to bed, during naptime, or the occasional locked in the bath room break).  There will be misspelled words, incorrect punctuation use, and my self diagnosed dyslexia may even show up from time to time.  I went to school and became a RN. Not to long after like literally months I became a mommy. Went back to work when Brother was almost one then had to leave when I was around 6 months pregnant with Sister.  Now I get the privilege to stay home.  Some days I rock at being a SAHM.  Other days I am barley keeping my head above water.

Why Blog?
1. I tried to keep a diary but with three kids that didn't really happen.
2. I wanted to document our transition to the montessori method. (Brother is in a montessori via but we are planning on homeschooling next year)
3. I want a place to show my friends and family that we are not crazy for choosing homeschooling.  Well at least I hope we are not.

Thanks for following... even though right now I'm sitting heretalking to myself.  Let this new adventure begin!

Much love,
       That one crazy Momma
